Good Friday

“Yet it was our pain that he bore, our sufferings he endured. We thought of him as stricken, struck down by God and afflicted, but he was pierced for our sins, crushed for our iniquity. He bore the punishment that makes us whole, by his wounds we were healed.” Isaiah 53:4-5

Today is Good Friday.

Over 2,000 years ago Our King was

betrayed,

mocked,

hit,

slapped,

scourged, and

nailed

to

a

cross.

All for His love of you.

He did not argue, he did not complain, he didn’t even do anything wrong, but He showed us what real love is, and offered Himself as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins.

I don’t have many words today, because I think reflecting on this suffering and reliving this day with Jesus is enough to try to wrap our heads around.

May we be overwhelmed by His love, as He carried the cross, weighted by our sin, so that we could have eternal life with the Father. And how beautiful it is to know that He conquered death and will rise again, but for today, let us relive His passion and death with Him.

Although our offerings are small in comparison to what He suffered, let’s try to pour our hearts into the next three days and truly experience this Easter Triduum with Jesus.

I challenge us all to read and reflect on today’s readings and to take some small steps today in offering our day to Christ.  Whether it be turning the radio off in the car, refraining from social media, taking a cold shower, squeezing in a rosary, making time for prayer, or extra fasting… whatever it may be- be sure to spend some quiet time with the Lord and be with Him on this sacred day.

Have a “Good Friday” and the most joyful Easter, ladies!!
