How Far I'll Go
“For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope for a future,” -Jeremiah 29:11
God speaks to each of us in various ways. He speaks to each of us in ways that we will understand Him. He seems to like to speak to me through music. I often have a song or artist stuck in my head so I listen to it constantly. It takes me a while to understand why a certain song is stuck in my head but after listening to it on repeat more times than I can count, it eventually hits me.
I am adjusting to a lot of changes in the next few months. My family and I are going on a pilgrimage to Lourdes and Fatima, my friends are getting married, I am going to be an aunt, and I am taking EMT classes that will change my career path.
With all of that change, I have been wondering where I am going and what lies ahead for me. Of course How Far I’ll Go from Disney’s Moana has been struck in my head for a week now and I finally realized that only God knows how far I’ll go.
In the uncertainty of the future, I find comfort in knowing that right now I am where I am supposed to be. Right now I find happiness right where I am (another song from Moana). I know that when the Lord wants me to take another step, He will guide me to where He wants me to be.
Do I know where I’ll be in five years or even next year? No. But I do know that the One who created me and knows the deepest desires of my heart better than I do, will not limit me to those desires but will take me far.
I challenge myself and each of you to enjoy the moment. Enjoy who and what the Lord has placed in your life. Find happiness right where you are.
